  • Support the end-to-end development and distribution of email and SMS communications in support of student recruitment outcomes for Sydney Future Students, the University of Sydney
  • Base Salary $104K + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity 

Sydney Future Students is in a period of exciting and significant alignment in services towards the University’s student recruitment plan and strategies across faculties and schools. We have created a new position in our Lead, Nurture and Conversion team to help build on our success and strengthen our offering for the future. 

The Lead Nurture and Conversion Coordinator will assist the Manager, Lead Nurture and Conversion in implementing the Sydney Future Students strategy to deliver on both domestic and international markets. Working with the Manager, Director of Faculty Partnerships and Recruitment Services, and the senior leadership team to design and implement a consistent direct email and SMS approach, this role will help provide a seamless journey for future students. 

The ideal candidate for this role will possess excellent communication skills, understand audience segmentation, and have a history of running successful customer/prospective student conversion-focused campaigns. Proficiency in stakeholder management and a commitment to client satisfaction are essential to coordinate asset creation and writing for direct communications that aligns with stakeholder expectations. Your ability to transform briefs into compelling emails and SMS communications, create impactful campaigns, and align communication strategies with organisational objectives will be the key component of your role. 

Join our team and use your copywriting and design abilities to implement direct messaging strategies that help us increase student recruitment outcomes for the University of Sydney. As a key member of the team, you will execute email and SMS campaigns, support customer journey mapping, and utilise campaign software to ensure prospective students receive relevant information at the appropriate times in their journey. You will work closely with the Manager and other student recruitment stakeholders to develop and deliver an annual, large-scale direct communications plan, lead nurture, and conversion schedule.  About you 

  • experience implementing lead nurture and conversion email and SMS campaigns, and experience working with CRM platforms and campaign software, including Campaign Monitor and Mailchimp
  • direct email and SMS communications experience and ability to write and develop compelling copy for direct communications for a wide range of different audience segments
  • experience designing and managing projects with designers to create visually appealing email templates and creative. excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to develop succinct, compelling email, SMS and phone script copy
  • strong technical skills with experience that would support the optimisation of direct email and SMS communications campaigns to prospective students through automation, segmentation and personalisation
  • planning and analysis skills, together with the ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands
  • practical coordination skills and ability to work with a diverse group of key stakeholders on large and complex projects, and the ability to develop/cultivate productive relationships with external suppliers and consultants
  • a comprehensive understanding of the prospective student life cycle, email and SMS communications planning and documentation, industry standards, benchmarking, policies, and methodologies.
  • strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate briefs into direct communication journeys that help drive student recruitment objectives.

Desirable:

  • experience designing email marketing templates using HTML or template building software
  • agency or higher education experience
