About the Marketing team
The Business Development and Markets Researcher will deliver on high-quality research, analysis and project support to the Global Markets Manager, Chief Marketing Officer and other stakeholders across Gilbert + Tobin.
This role suits a motivated professional who enjoys solving problems, working with data and delivering insights that inform strategic decision-making.
You work closely with internal stakeholders to support key firm initiatives and client development strategies. You bring curiosity, sound judgement and the confidence to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
About the role
You use your research and analytical skills to deliver insights that shape firm-wide priorities. Working across the business, you will:
Conduct in-depth research into global markets, clients, industries and sectors, including financial and transactional analysis
Analyse market trends, competitor activity and regulatory developments to inform business development priorities
Prepare clear, data-driven reports, presentations and briefing materials for senior stakeholders
Support the Global Markets Manager and Chief Marketing Officer on strategic projects, including sector strategy, client research programs and international initiatives
Gather and interpret data to support business planning and reporting
Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes using tools such as AI and automation
Build strong working relationships across the Marketing and Business Development team and broader business services teams
About you
You are curious, proactive and commercially aware, with strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
You will also have:
Two or more years’ experience in research, consulting, business development, corporate advisory or a related field
Experience in a law firm, professional services, consulting or a similar environment
Strong capability in analysing financial and market data and delivering clear, commercial insights
Experience preparing reports and presentations for senior stakeholders
Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience is highly regarded
A degree in commerce, economics, finance, business or a related discipline
Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
