Role OverviewThe Associate Production Manager (APM) works in tandem with the Production Manager and/or VFX Producer; to oversee the schedule and day to day operations of the show production. The APM is responsible for the movement of shots and assets through the pipeline, ensuring milestones are met and clear communication is maintained between artists, supervisors, and production leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish a show schedule in partnership with the Production Manager and Supervisors.
Direct and mentor Production Coordinators and Production Assistants to ensure the schedule is implemented and milestones are achieved.
Partner with PMs to drive targets and ensure a consistent departmental workflow across the project.
Manage and track the progress of shots and assets through the VFX pipeline, identifying potential bottlenecks before they impact delivery.
Facilitate communication between departments and global ILM sites to ensure a unified approach to production.
Coordinate artist assignments in collaboration with Talent Managers and Supervisors to optimise resource utilisation.
Lead production meetings and reviews, ensuring clear action items are captured and distributed to the team.
Manage client deliveries, ensuring all materials meet the required technical and creative standards before submission.
Provide regular status reports to the VFX Producer and Production Manager regarding the health and progress of assigned departments.
Assist with the bidding process for new work or shot changes, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects and navigate diverse personalities within a fast paced environment.
Execute tasks within strict deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Showcase strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with a focus on developing junior production staff.
Possess a high level of technical literacy regarding VFX pipelines, asset management, and scheduling software (e.g., ShotGrid).
Exhibit proactive problem solving skills and a calm demeanor under high-pressure situations.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, follow through, and excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Film, Art, or Communications, or equivalent industry experience.
